| Today is March 9, 2010 and the new fishing season is about to begin. Over the winter, I stored the boat under a canvas shelter, which seemed like a great idea. The 4th big snow storm with 40MPH winds created havoc throughout the region. My great idea turned out to be a nightmare, the shelter collapsed from the weight of the snow and high winds, covering the boat with snow, broken poles and canvas. Sunday, March 7th we were able to get it out. The only damage was a broken windshield, which has been ordered and the front pedestal seat was bent and broken, which I replaced on Sunday. The plan is to perform the required maintenance this week and launch for the first outing on Saturday, March 13th. Now the weather guys are predicting heavy rains Thursday through Sunday. Every March I get out to test the waters prior to booking early trips. This year will not be an exception. I will be out no less than 4 times before April 1st (barring snow and ice). The season kicks off April 1st so check the reports on this page often. Sunday March 14th - The boat has been repaired and is running great. Plan to get out on March 17 and 19th to test the waters.
